What information we collect
We collect personal information only when you actively submit a form on this website:
- Workshop booking form: your name, email address, phone number, and the date you wish to attend.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the subject of your message, your message, and (optionally) whether you would like to hear about future events.
We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not run any advertising scripts.
Why we collect it
- Workshop bookings are collected to manage attendance and confirm your place.
- Contact messages are collected solely to respond to your enquiry.
- If you opt in to the mailing list via the contact form, we will use your email address to send occasional news about workshops and events. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and managing bookings you have requested).
How it is stored
Workshop booking data is stored in a secure file on a UK-based web server hosted by Fasthosts Internet Ltd. Only Helen at The Handkerchief Tree can access it, via a password-protected admin page.
Contact form messages are processed and forwarded by Formspree (formspree.io), a third-party form service. Formspree may temporarily store your message on their servers in order to deliver it. You can read their privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
How long we keep it
- Workshop booking records are kept for up to 12 months after the workshop date, then deleted.
- Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes. The only third party that handles your data is Formspree, as described above, solely to deliver your contact message to us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you (right of access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information (right to rectification)
- Ask us to delete your information (right to erasure)
- Withdraw consent to mailing list emails at any time
